Health & Safety Policy Statement

This is the Health & Safety Policy document for T.S Henderson & Company.

The company have implemented measures to protect the Health & Safety of its employees at work, acknowledging that the workplace can be a potential source of danger and many simple tasks carry risks to Health and Safety if not undertaken correctly.

It should be noted that the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc., states that ‘it shall be the duty of every employee while at work:-

a) To take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and

b) As regards any duty or requirement imposed on their employer or any other person by or under any relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with them so far as is necessary to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied with.

c) The employer freely issues compulsory work boots to be worn in the workshop at all times, and eye protection to be worn when grinding and linishing operations are undertaken.

Management are also bound by the Act:

“It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure so as far is reasonably practical, the health, safety and welfare at work of all of their employees”

The management also have a common law duty:

“the employer must take reasonable care not to subject his employees to unnecessary risks”,
